Dance Your Gratitude!

Yesterday, perhaps you silently or out loud proclaimed what you are thankful for this year.⁣⁣Why not make it Thanksgiving week? ⁣⁣I want to share an experience I had on Wednesday, to help inspire you. I have been attending a weekly Biodanza class on Wednesday nights in November. (Don't know what Biodanza is? Look it up! It is notoriously hard to describe and AMAZING!)⁣⁣The instructions for one of the dances was to "dance our gratitude". The instructor put on some beautiful music, and we did just that. I let my dance flow out of me, and completely without using ...

I Felt Blissful with the Flu

I know this may sound impossible...who would feel blissed out while sick with the flu? Well, it DID happen, and NOW I understand the reason behind it. The last time I got the flu was the last time I had a flu shot, 20 years ago. I remember lying in my bed, feeling like I was gonna die.  You've been there, right?  And not just feeling sick, but also adding on the "double whammy" of feeling sorry for myself.  I was recently divorced, and alone, with no one to take care of me- definitely one of the drawbacks to getting divorced, by the way. Then I ...

What If You Were A Newborn?

Yes, I'm still a bit obsessed with our new kitten- in a good way.  ;)The other day I was taking a work break and gazing down at him in my lap.  I could kinda smell his "cat food breath", which strangely smells a bit like fish even though his food is poultry flavored.  And I realized that even though that smell is kinda gross, it doesn't affect my love for him. I see his gorgeous eyes, his perfectly placed whiskers and his delicately painted paws. I marvel at every little detail of his slowly growing body and personality.  I don't complain about his breath, critic...

I’m Not Going To Lie

I'm not going to lie. It's been an interesting week.  And I don't mean "bad".  A real mixed bag, actually. Last week I had arthroscopic knee surgery.  So that's a thing.  I'm doing well.  And, it's still a thing. At the same time, business is hopping!  I think I underestimated what a big deal it is to work full time while only having had surgery a few days earlier.  And, I'm not complaining.  My ideal clients are coming to me, and I love doing this work. And then there are just a lot of people around me going through challenges ...

Do You Hate Valentine’s Day?

While it may be true that much of the Valentine's Day hype is commercially based, so what? That's the case with most holidays.  The question is, are we going to let capitalism dictate our behavior by NOT celebrating perfectly wonderful things, like love? And unlike some holidays, there actually is some kind of grain of truth in this one.  Valentine's Day is connected to love.  What is now Valentine's Day was said to have started out as the Roman festival of Lupercalia, which celebrated the rituals of spring and ended with men and women being paired ...

A Sparkly Star

Here's a poem I wrote some time ago, that I got the impulse to share today.  Maybe some of you can relate.  We all have different parts of ourselves.                                                                              A Sparkly Star I came with my case of toilet paperAnd my case of paper towelsAnd toddler wipes, to keep the buttocks clean, but of course&...

Are You Loving Yourself With Boundaries?

Boundaries have been coming up for me SO MUCH lately!  As I raise the bar with my own boundaries- again, defined by Brene Brown as “what’s okay, what’s not okay”- the next opportunity to inquire into and define my boundaries comes up. What I know about setting and keeping clear boundaries is that it is way the hell up there with top ways for us to love ourselves. The first time I heard that, it struck me as odd, or at least as a thought I’d never had before.  And, in time, I’ve come to realize how true that really is. I do recommend giving some ...

Are You Connected?

Today's topic, CONNECTION can be defined, according to yours truly, as "Consciousness joining with Itself."   You may or not know this about me...I am a channel.  When I'm in the zone, I download information directly from the Divine Itself.  I downloaded that definition from God/dess as I was narrowing down my values to write my business plan, years ago.  More accurately, I could say, that's the definition of "connection" according to God/dess. Going back even more years, when I became an exotic dancer to pay for Life Coaching school, one of ...

Are You Allowing Yourself To Receive?

That was a pretty big jump for me, especially since I was riding on a lot of long hills in Rockport, whereas at home the hills are fairly minor.  And, oh yeah, it was in the middle of a heatwave!  I was EXHAUSTED going up some of those hills, despite the gorgeous seaside views.  I decided to use a technique I had learned years ago, where I call in what I call "unemployed angels", angels who are hanging out waiting for someone to ask them for help.  (Yes, they exist!  And by spiritual law, they can't help unless you ask.)  It's customary ...

Soul S.E.X.

There's no doubt that, as human beings, sex can and often does feel terrific- whether it's masturbation, or sex with partners. In fact, it feels so good that often we tend to think it's enough. What more could we want? Human touch, pleasure, endorphins...what's not to love, right? I agree, and there is so much more if we choose it. If we go deeper, to a realm of spirituality and possibilities. Making love with our souls is magical. What if you're not having a great time with sex? Or, you used to enjoy it, and now you're kind of bored? No matter what your ...
