Make Finding a Partner Fun and Easy

My new partner and I like to play this game.  You may play this one too.  He says:  "What are you thinking about?" during one of those rare moments when I am not actually talking, and I tell him.  Which prompts me to ask him the same question.  I like it.  If you haven't tried it, I suggest that you do.  It's a good way to have fun and learn....

I Love

I have been on such an amazing journey since I made the decision to fulfill my life purpose here on the planet.  Many times over the last year and a half, I would have said amazingly horrible journey.  Today I am in a place of saying amazingly perfect.  It all came to a culmination for me last night as I was driving to my friend's house, and sobbing all the way there.  Mostly, they were tears of joy.  With a bit of fear harmonizing in occasionally....

The Letting Go

I am (in case you haven't heard) one of the world's great criers.  I actually like crying.  You know those people that never cry?  I can't relate.  In fact, I don't know how I'd get through life without it.  I express all of my core feelings through tears- fear, anger, joy, sadness, and sexual feelings.  Crying is a release.  Orgasm is a release.  Do you see what I'm saying?  It feels good.  And if I don't do it enough, I can feel that I'm not doing it enough. (Hey, same with orgasm, haha!) When people don't express their feelings  (and crying is an essential ...

The Many Uses of Acceptance

The other day I was sitting in traffic.  Well, it was gridlock, actually.  (Imagine, gridlock, right here in our little suburban area!)  While I was sitting there, I was experiencing calm acceptance of being stuck in traffic.  Not that I usually experience calm acceptance in traffic, and I imagine it was because I have been working on just that: acceptance.   So, while the traffic jam continued, I had time to observe what was going on around me.  (Another thing I've been working on, mindfulness!)  I noticed some school-aged kids on the sidewalks.  For some reason, ...

The Metaphysics of Mary Poppins

The other night I found myself at a local performance of Mary Poppins.  I say "found myself" because literally four hours earlier I hadn't even known about the show's existence, and suddenly I had great seats next to three friends- for free even!  Now there's an example of something that was meant to be.  And believe-you-me, I needed it!  I had been releasing some heavy duty stuff earlier in the day, what with the super-duper full moon and all;  I needed to be reminded of some important things, and Mary was just the woman for the job! You, like I, may have forgot...

Are you Ready for This?

I'm no astrologer, and I can tell you that there's big planetary stuff going on right now.  In general, the earth is going through a shift; many of us are aware of that, both through our reading and through our personal experiences.  And, this month in particular, the sh*t is really hitting the fan, culminating in a powerful full moon at the end of the month (the 29th in the U.S., the 30th in some places around the world). So what does all this have to do with you, you might be asking?  Well, first of all, when I say "sh*t hitting the fan", that is not necessarily a ...

Question Everything, Including Authority

My ex-husband and I were both raised Catholic.  So we know what it's like to sit through those Catholic masses with all their rituals and prayers, repeated over and over each week.  In the Catholic mass, there's a part when the priest says "body of Christ" and the parishoners are supposed to repeat it and make the sign of the cross.  Well, apparently when my ex-husband was a little kid, he thought the priest was saying "foddy-a-fice" rather than "body of Christ" (notice how the two rhyme).  Eventually, he figured out what the priest was really saying, but in the ...

The Art of Mindfulness

I'm sure many of you have heard of this concept of mindfulness.  I first heard of it when I was in graduate school and I read the book Full Catastrophe Living by Jon Kabat-Zinn. (He was, at least at the time, in charge of the stress management program at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and he is one of those really cool guys who hyphenated his last name when he got married ;) .)  Mindfulness is really being in the moment.  Not in the past, not in the future, simply in the present. Taking in the present moment with all your senses.  For instance, ...

Really, do you Know How Beautiful you Are?

As promised, I will get right to saying more about each of the seven main chakras, starting from the bottom of the spine and moving up: 1.  The first chakra is red, and is often referred to as the base or root chakra.  It is associated with survival, security, and safety.  It is also the chakra at work in manifestation and sexuality (more so for women than men, as it's where a woman's yoni is located, although the lingam is located  a little higher up on the body). 2.  The second chakra is located at the belly area, about two inches below the navel.  It is ...

The Cool Thing About Being in this New Era….

...well, one of the cool things I mean, is that the things that many people thought were hogwash are starting to be scientifically validated.  Last weekend I had the opportunity to have my aura and chakras photographed.  The camera sees the electromagnetic energy and shows what it looks like.  That technology has been around for a while, and I've always wanted to try it, so I finally did.  None of it was really much of a surprise to me, and it was really fun! So, yeah, my aura is mostly blue with some purple.  All the colors mean different things.  I was told my ...
