The Energy Stream

Recently I developed a new technique for those moments when I am  having any type of negative thought.  I made reference to it the other day in a blog.  It’s very simple.  I simply imagine a sea of compassion and unconditional love floating toward me, and then I receive it when it arrives. It felt very easy for me to do, right from the first time I did it.  I would even say I was  naturally masterful at it. So the other day I was doing it, basking in the warm glow of the love and compassion I was receiving and I had a thought: maybe I am not really creating ...

Texting Love

Lately I have been working on loving myself at a deeper level.  I have been learning to love myself for like ten years, but now I am really digging my self-loathing out by the roots. Yes, we all have it, or some degree of it inside ourselves, even if we had a "good childhood", even if our parents did a "good job", it doesn't take much for us as infants and toddlers to get the idea that there is somehow something wrong with us, or that we are not good enough. Dance Recital Musings

Today I went to my daughter’s dance recital.  Normally, I don’t look forward to three hours of consecutive entertainment, and today was no different. (I want to see my kid dancing, just not her and everyone else’s kid, for so long ) But even in the midst of my bad attitude, I started having some positive thoughts. As I was sitting there looking into the faces of all these children, I started to think: each one of these human beings in front of me is one tiny wave on the sea of God.  Each one of these kids represents a different flavor of God(dess). Some were ...

Sacred Union in The One Body

You’ve probably heard the expression that goes something like this: You can’t love another until you love yourself.  Well, another way of saying that is this: You can’t have sacred union in the two bodies until you have had sacred union within the one body. What AM I talking about, you may be asking.  Sacred union is basically coming together with the Divine.  It is possible to do it within yourself (aka loving yourself), and in fact it is necessary to do it within yourself before you can truly do it with another. And just to complicate things even more, I will ...

Friends With Benefits: Are They Beneficial? (Part II)

As promised, below is the actual email I sent to my friend with benefits at the end of our time together (minus his real name- I’ll call him “Steve”).  I think it is a great stand-alone statement about how friends with benefits can be so much deeper than it seems.  I know I am grateful for the experience, personally.  Here it is: Hi Steve, You didn't do anything wrong.  Your not responding to me the other night and how foolish I felt about writing to you and not getting a response really was my issue.  I had told you I was going to give you some space, ...
